Did You Know?

Dart Controls hold many patents that have enabled the drive control industry to achieve the high degree of acceptance and success that they have had.

These include:

Tachometer Pickup (Patent)
This invention utilized a magnetic switch mounted to the shaft of an electric motor to determine motor rotation. Prior to this patent, tachometers were mounted to a stationary frame then coupled to the motor shaft through some kind of flexible coupling. This invention allowed the tachometer's rotor to be mounted directly to the motor shaft while only the flexible electrical cable held the tachometer housing in place. This allowed the tachometer housing to flex slightly and not bind with the rotor. This invention allowed dart to build an cost-effective tachometer pickup.
